  Put the Tart Before the Horse Pudding, a Medieval Recipe

Serves 8 generously for about 230 calories

This popular village fruit pizza hath been slimmed down a notch or two. This goody ‘tis a healthier choice for young tots, as well as for thee & it wilt feed a mob well.  The tart may’st also be assembled at a merry event, such as ye old annual festival.  

Simply take along ye old tart base, then add the creamy middle & the fresh fruit array after arriving in humble wooden cart pulled by thy donkey named Willpower.

Ye Old Ingredients for Put the Tart Before the Horse Pudding, a Medieval Recipe

MEDIEVAL CRUST RECIPE

1 Cup of White Flour
¼ Cup of Cornstarch
¼ Cup of REAL Sugar
¼ Cup of Margarine
1 Large Hen Egg

Mix flour, cornstarch & sugar.  Cut in margarine until dough is crumbly.  Stir in egg & shape dough into ball.  Press into a 10-inch pizza plate that hath been sprayed generously with non stick cooking spray.

Place into a preheated 350 degree oven till golden – about 10 minutes.  Remove & cool completely before topping off.

FILLING FOR THIS MEDIEVAL RECIPE

8 Ounces of Light Cream Cheese (Not Fat-Free)
12 Packets of No Calorie Sweetener
1 Teaspoon of Sugar

Cream, then top cooled tart base.

TOPPING FOR THIS MEDIEVAL RECIPE

Top with assorted fruits of the vine such as sliced strawberries, kiwi, peaches & nectarines.  Drizzle with a smidgen of melted apricot jam.
