 The Medieval Diet - Ye Village Bakery

Queen Lace Cookies, a Medieval Recipe

Makes about 2 dozen cookies for about 75 calories each

Cookies for this deliciously good medieval recipe wilt resemble shape of an ice cream cone.  If baked cookie dough doeth harden, return to oven till soft & try again.

Ye Old Medieval Ingredients
¾ Cup of White Flour
½ Cup of Packed Light Brown Sugar
¼ Cup of Melted Margarine
1 Tablespoon No Calorie Refrigerated Butter Spray
¼ Cup Lite Molasses OR Lite Maple Syrup
1 Tablespoon of Rum or Brandy Flavored Extract
½ Teaspoon of Ginger, Ground
½ Teaspoon of Nutmeg, Ground
¼ Teaspoon of Cinnamon, Ground

Filling

1 Small Container of Lite Whipped Topping
1 Can of Drained Crushed Pineapple
 

Combine sugar, margarine, molasses & rum extract.  Stir in flour & spices.

To bake, line a cookie sheet with foil.  Coat foil with non-stick cooking spray, thoroughly.  Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for about 5 minutes or till dough be golden.

Cooked dough wilt be thinner than Grandfather’s silver hair.

Allow to cool till set lest thy hands be scorched & reddened.  Watch closely with guarded eye for the Forest Gnome for he delights on Queen Lace Cookies when there art naught wandering village tots in site.

Carefully remove the slightly cooled cooked cookie dough & roll each cookie around a greased metal cone – or a greased spoon or tiny glass.

Filling – Combine topping with crushed drained pineapple.  Gently fill cones.
