Okra
contains a slime identified as muslic. The acid in tomatoes helps keep
the muslic under reign, thereby delivering a tasty goody for thy belly.
Okra
+ tomatoes from thy vine + a bit of chopped onion makes one peasantly pleasing
gumbo.
Try
adding seafood – specifically crab in the shell or crawfish, lean sausage chunks
& a bit of cubed poultry to a pot of freshly boiled okra & tomatoes.
Okra
makes ordinary soup, fancy soup. Be mindful to add just a tidbit. A
half cup or a few pods to a pot of soup works nicely & adds fiber to thy
body, bulk & color to thy cooking pot.
Okra
may’st even be added raw to liven up daily salads.
