Medieval Food - Ye Non-Standard Medieval Diet Prelude

Ye Official & Oddly Familiar Sounding Non-Standard Prelude

HEAR THY TRUMPET HORNS BLARING: WA HO WA HUM, WA HO WA HUM

A loud echo follows.  (Will’s leeks.)

Faire Maiden Sky & Handsomely Rugged Sir Thomas enter thy humble stage to address thee:

Sir Thomas: “Good morrow, Handsome Lords & Faire Ladies! Prepare thyself to enter a land of weight loss enchantment, a land filled with wondrous recipes, Kingly mind & body exercises, & diet tips that wilt plaster a smile on thy face & etch smaller numbers on thy scale!”

Maiden Sky: “The Medieval Diet wilt drive those weight demons out of thy village & fill thy life with merriment & happy dance.”

Sir Thomas: ”On thy weight loss journey, prepare to lose about two pounds per week.  And rest assured, for a two-pound per week weight loss ‘tis a healthy rate because true stored fat wilt be dropped rather than water weight.”

Maiden Sky: ”Wilt thy need special machines?  Nay!  Exotic foods for the preparation of the succulent recipes?  Nay!  A chastity belt for thy mouth?  Nay!”

Maiden Sky slaps away Sir Thomas’ suddenly stray hand, then continues….

Maiden Sky: ”Thy will achieve success by a couple of common simpleton tools of the diet trade: a scale to weigh thy body on, a tiny scale to weigh certain feasting items on, a set of measuring spoons, a set of measuring cups & a set of teensy 2 – 5 pound weights.  If thy prefer, use bags of village potatoes rather than weights.  Even a large boulder from thy back courtyard wilt doeth nicely.”

Sir Thomas: ”As thy can clearly see, thy probably already hath in thy possession the aforementioned diet tools.”
