Medieval Food - Ye Old Village Crafts in Ye Medieval Diet

A crafty mind is a Village Dieter's Workshop!

One thing well with The Medieval Diet is that it be NOT a FAD Diet.  Fad diets doeth not thy body well.  Rarely doeth they work because they doeth not train a Villager how to properly feast.

To succeed in Ye Old Weight Loss Tournament, the Village Dieter must hath redeeming knowledge of many things!  Get to know thy SIX senses as thy sixth may’st be thy most important: INTUITION.

Intuition yields a crafty mind, full of fox-trotted, well-witted diet thots that will steer the Village Dieter - who doth possess this illustrious mind treasure - into straight & narrow paths, avoiding the dangerous crooked paths that leadeth to diet destruction. For these destructive paths art plentiful on Ye Old Diet Trail & alas, art not forbidden.  One simply enters by Free Will.

Therefore, use thy wit & use it well & forbid thyself from these well-worn paths where so many other Village Dieters hath tread & fallen like wilted kumquats along the way.

The forbidden trails be marked at times with names such as: “Ye Old Hostess Lane” & “The Elf's Hollow Cookie-Filled Tree” & “Log of Cabin” & “101 Dolly Madison & Lil Debbie Lane”.

Beware, because many times a goody may’st be fat-free such as lush maple syrup – tapped from one grown by a wayward Village Woodcutter.

Or, a feasting goody may’st contain a crude label of: “Fat Free” or “Sugar Free” or “Cholesterol Free".  These kind & rather tempting words may’st do well to suck thee into the Village Vortex of Commercial Unsafe Diet Marketing (VVCUDM) so beware of these disguised vices, Village Dieter!!

But doeth this mean that thy must always so ‘NAY’ to goody madness?  Yea, to goody madness, thy must always say NAY.

So, doeth this mean that thy may’st nev’r enjoy a goody that hath more evil than good?  NAY! Enjoy if thy must, but enjoy thy goody with a well-witted, crafty mind.

If the goody be a large cake, enjoy one slice.  If thy would’st like to enjoy another, then DO!  But take heed to wrap the extra goody up safely & place it securely in a hemp sack for thy wilt enjoy this goody on the morrow.  (Not now, buster.) (Unless, thy fond cake be an angelfood cake.  Thee may’st take immediate merry of this good goody!)
