Medieval Food - The Peasant's Porch

Hear the lyre playing in the background?  It's setting yon mood at The Peasants Porch.

Supper at The Peasants Porch should’st be light, merry & lazy for thee.  Evening brings a time of relaxation, of enjoyment of life & a time for discussion of the events of the long languorous day.

Take heed to our earlier warning about late feasting.  Eat thy supper at thy earliest convenience so that it doth not lay in thy belly all thru the night ahead.

Eat light.  Eat early.  But doth put something into thy belly!

If thy hath experienced a hearty noon time feast, thy might’st opt for a nourishing beverage rather than thy teensy, but necessary, platter or bowl of goodies.

Milk combined with fruit & ice makes a very tasty goody.  Add a bit of no calorie sweetener to thy drink for an even sweeter than the bees taste.

If thy become famished after thy evening meal, take great care before grabbing a goody to satisfy thy hunger.  Choose wisely.

Thy rice cake may’st not be very tasty but thy lips will be etched with a big smile when thy sees how much weight thy hath dropped come morning light.

But enough about unsavory rice cakes!  Let us take a magical ride & rest a fortnite, perhaps two or three, at The Peasants Porch.

Hark!  I hear a lyre whining in the distance as we settle beneath a full, red-bloodied moon.  Red moon tonight, sailor’s morning delight.  Or something to that effect.  Now onward & upward we ride!
